Prof. Nguyen Tien Dung is an internationally renowned Vietnamese mathematician who won a Gold Medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in 1985 at just under 15 years old — still Vietnam's record for the youngest gold medalist to date — and graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University (former Soviet Union) before earning his Ph.D. in Mathematics in France.
With over 30 years dedicated to mathematical research and teaching at the University of Toulouse, he is particularly known for his work on geometry, integrable dynamical systems, and Poisson/Nambu structures, published in leading mathematics journals worldwide such as Annals of Mathematics and Journal of Differential Geometry.
He is also one of the youngest scientists to be awarded the rank of First-Class Professor by the National Council of French Universities (CNU) at just 37 years old (2007), and was further promoted to Exceptional-Class Professor in 2015.
