SIGNING CEREMONY OF COOPERATION BETWEEN IGNITE INSTITUTE AND HANOI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

On 26 February 2026 in Hanoi, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Institute of Generative Intelligence Technology and Education (IGNITE) held a cooperation signing ceremony to advance science and technology policy research, core technology development, and high-quality human resource training in support of Vietnam’s national goals in digital transformation and innovation.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet, President of the IGNITE Institute, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, together with leaders of affiliated units from both institutions. The event marks an important step in strengthening the linkage between a policy research organization (think tank) and Vietnam’s leading technical university, toward establishing a long-term strategic collaboration model integrating research, education, and technology deployment.

The partnership is built on leveraging the complementary strengths of each institution: IGNITE’s capacity in policy research, advisory, and expert networks, and HUST’s advanced education, research, and technology development foundation. Through this collaboration, both sides aim to enhance the quality of science and technology policy research closely aligned with implementation practice, while contributing to the development of foundational technologies and Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem.

According to the cooperation orientation, the two institutions will focus on four priority areas. First, science and technology policy research and advisory, including surveys and assessments of national programs, resolutions, and strategies, and the development of analytical frameworks and policy reports. Second, development and application of strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, digital systems, and semiconductor technologies to support public governance and high-tech industry development. Third, high-tech workforce education and development through training programs, competency frameworks, and advanced professional courses. Fourth, research collaboration and internationalization through joint research groups, scientific conferences, and international cooperation initiatives.

The signing opens opportunities to combine the experience of IGNITE’s seasoned experts with the talents of HUST’s faculty members, researchers, and students. The integration of policy thinking and technical capability is expected to generate new momentum for research, innovation, and technology development in Vietnam in the coming period.

The event also lays the foundation for a Think Tank–Technical University collaboration model, contributing to strengthening national scientific and technological capacity and the quality of human resources in strategic technology fields. It represents a practical step toward implementing the Party and State’s major orientations on science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation in the knowledge-based economy era.
