Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet

PGS. TS. Nguyễn Ái Việt là một trong những nhà khoa học và trí thức công nghệ hàng đầu của Việt Nam, nổi bật với vai trò chiến lược trong phát triển trí tuệ nhân tạo (AI), dữ liệu, đổi mới sáng tạo và giáo dục khoa học công nghệ. Ông được biết đến như một trong những người tiên phong đóng góp xây dựng hệ sinh thái KHCN ở Việt Nam và là người mở đường phát triển Internet, công nghệ dữ liệu và AI trong nước.

Currently, he serves as the Director of the IGNITE Institute — a pioneering institution dedicated to developing "New Knowledge." Concurrently, he is a Member of the National Advisory Council on Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, providing strategic counsel for national-level policies.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & MANAGEMENT ROLES

Throughout his distinguished career, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet has held numerous strategic leadership positions:

- Giai đoạn 2011 – 2015: Viện trưởng Viện Công nghệ Thông tin (ITI) – Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội.

- Giai đoạn trước 2010: Phó Chánh văn phòng Ban chỉ đạo Quốc gia về Công nghệ thông tin; Phó Viện trưởng Viện Chiến lược CNTT-TT (Bộ Thông tin và Truyền thông).

International Activities:

- Professor/Lecturer at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary) for 4 years (1987–1991).

- Chief Software Engineer at Siemens Group (USA) and Specialist at AT&T (USA).

Current Professional Engagements:

- Founder of the Institute of Generative AI Technology and Education (IGNITE).

- Member of the National Advisory Council on Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation.

- Member of the VINASA Think-tank (Vietnam Software and IT Services Association).

1. International Recognition

- The first Vietnamese scientist honored by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences as one of the "Advanced Scientists of the World."

- Recipient of numerous prestigious awards for Outstanding Young Physicists in Russia and Hungary during his research tenure (1978–1984).

2. Science & Technology Contributions

- Patent Author: "Secure Internet Access and Remote Work" – a vital contribution to national cybersecurity.

- National Project Lead: "Development of English-Chinese-Vietnamese Multilingual Translation Technology" – one of the earliest Natural Language Processing (NLP) initiatives in Vietnam.

- E-Government Architecture: Author of the ITI E-Government Interoperability Framework and Vietnam's representative in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) drafting committee for E-Government Architecture.

3. Community & Education Legacy

- Author of influential books: "Vietnam in the Era of Digital Transformation" and the "Ba Dinh Plan for Vietnam's Science and Technology Development to 2045."

- Founder of the "Ai Viet Society" – a global network connecting Vietnamese scientists worldwide.
