IGNITE INSTITUTE CONDUCTS A FACT-FINDING VISIT TO THE VIETNAM NATIONAL INDUSTRY – ENERGY GROUP (PETROVIETNAM) ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 57-NQ/TW

On the afternoon of 06/7/2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam National Industry – Energy Group (Petrovietnam), a survey delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet – Director of the Institute of Technology and Education for Newly Generative Intelligence (IGNITE), acting as Chief Advisor – held a working session with the leadership of the Group, together with representatives from a number of specialized departments and member units. The session aimed to document practical experience, exchange views, and provide advisory support in addressing difficulties and obstacles in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Plan No. 01-KH/BCĐTW of the Central Steering Committee.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the outstanding achievements of Petrovietnam in research, development, and the application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation across the Group's production and business activities. As a pillar state-owned economic group operating along a long value chain – from exploration, extraction, processing, and distribution to the development of new energy sources – Petrovietnam plays an important role in leading and pioneering the implementation of major undertakings of the Party and the State on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation within the state-owned enterprise sector.

Representatives of Petrovietnam shared strategic directions and initial results in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW at the Group, particularly in areas such as the application of digital technologies to corporate governance and production management; the development of data systems and digital platforms in support of the operations of the Group and its member units; the promotion of research and application of new technologies in the energy sector; as well as the training and development of high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of digital transformation and the energy transition.

In addition, the two sides devoted considerable time to discussing the advantages, difficulties, and obstacles encountered in the implementation of tasks related to science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation at a large-scale economic group with distinctive operational characteristics. The discussions focused on mechanisms and policies to encourage research and development activities within enterprises; investment mechanisms for science and technology and innovation; cooperation between enterprises and research institutes and universities; as well as issues arising from the implementation of large-scale digital transformation projects at the Group. On that basis, the two sides jointly proposed several directions and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Plan No. 01-KH/BCĐTW in the time ahead.

Through the working session, the survey delegation gained further valuable information and insights from one of the country's leading state-owned economic groups – a practical perspective from an enterprise directly implementing tasks related to science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation at a large scale. The contributions from Petrovietnam serve as an important source of information, supporting research, assessment, and the formulation of recommendations to promote science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the time ahead, particularly solutions associated with the role of the state-owned enterprise sector.
