As global energy demand increases and environmental challenges intensify, algal-based biofuels are considered a sustainable pathway. Vietnam possesses a rich and diverse ecosystem of seaweeds and marine microalgae, offering strong potential for the production of bioethanol and biodiesel, as well as high-value products such as omega-3 and omega-6 PUFAs, DHA, EPA, carotenoids, and squalene.

This seminar focuses on technological solutions in algal cultivation, harvesting, fermentation, and extraction, aiming to reduce production costs of algal-based biofuels and promote the sustainable development of Vietnam’s seaweed and microalgae industry.
