IGNITE INSTITUTE CONDUCTS A FACT-FINDING VISIT TO THE VIETNAM ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 57-NQ/TW

On 26 June 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, a survey delegation from the IGNITE Institute, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet (Director of the IGNITE Institute), held a working session with the leadership of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, together with representatives from a number of affiliated units. The session was part of the Institute's broader programme of fact-finding activities aimed at documenting practical experience in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Plan No. 01-KH/BCĐTW.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the outstanding achievements of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology in basic research, applied research, and the development of strategic technology directions… Representatives of the Academy also shared their experience in technology transfer, international cooperation, and the training of high-quality science and technology human resources, in close connection with its network of specialized research institutes and the Graduate University of Science and Technology.

The two sides also discussed the advantages, difficulties and obstacles encountered in the implementation of science and technology tasks, particularly issues relating to financial mechanisms for research activities, policies for attracting and retaining scientists, investment in key research infrastructure, as well as the linkage among the "three actors" – the State, scientists and enterprises. On that basis, the two sides exchanged views and proposed a number of solutions to enhance the effectiveness of implementing the tasks set out in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Plan No. 01-KH/BCĐTW.

Through the working session, the IGNITE Institute gained further information and in-depth insights from one of the country's leading institutions in scientific and technological research. The contributions from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology serve as an important source of information, supporting research, assessment, and the formulation of recommendations to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the time ahead.

Concluding the session, the two sides agreed to maintain regular channels of information exchange and to cooperate closely in research activities, policy advisory work, and other areas of professional collaboration in the time ahead, with the shared objective of contributing to making science, technology and innovation a genuine strategic breakthrough for the rapid and sustainable development of the country.
