IGNITE INSTITUTE HOLDS A WORKING SESSION WITH THE CENTRAL POLICY AND STRATEGY COMMISSION

On the morning of August 27, 2026, in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, held a working session with the leadership of the Institute of Generative Intelligence Technology and Education (IGNITE) to discuss several tasks and directions for cooperation in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ái Việt, Director of the IGNITE Institute; Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Tuấn, Deputy Director; Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Hiển, Director General of the Department of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Commission; as well as representatives of several units under the Commission and the Institute for Policy and Strategy Research.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn emphasized the importance of strengthening connections with experts, scientists, and research institutes in conducting research and providing policy advice for the formulation of strategic orientations, policies, and strategies. He highly appreciated the support provided by the IGNITE Institute in recent years and called for continued cooperation in the fields of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ái Việt, Director of the IGNITE Institute, presented the Institute's operational directions in the context of AI, semiconductor technology, and other breakthrough technologies driving profound changes. IGNITE focuses on connecting policy experts, scientists, and technology specialists, while conducting research and implementing strategic initiatives in areas including AI, data, semiconductors, quantum technology, technology security, and high-quality human resource development.

The IGNITE Institute proposed several areas of cooperation with the Commission, including researching pilot models for implementing Resolution No. 57 at the local level; jointly preparing a national conference on the semiconductor industry; and researching and applying agentic AI to support the operations of policy advisory bodies.

The two sides also discussed the potential application of AI in developing and utilizing shared databases, developing virtual assistants, supporting document processing, information synthesis, and report preparation, while enhancing the technological capabilities of public-sector personnel.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn agreed on the direction of strengthening cooperation between the Commission and the Institute in connecting experts, enterprises, and research resources, with particular emphasis on expanding cooperation with international experts. He called on the IGNITE Institute to continue supporting AI adoption, enhancing technological skills among public-sector personnel, and working with the Commission and local authorities in implementing activities related to science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The working session contributed to strengthening the connection between research, expertise, technology, and policy advisory work, while opening up practical avenues for cooperation between the Central Policy and Strategy Commission and the IGNITE Institute in the coming period.
